Asia is the largest continent in the world in terms of land and population. It occupies an area of around 44,579,000 ²km (17,212,000 sq mi) which is around 30% of the total land area of the Earth and 8.7% of the total surface of the Earth. Geographical Location of Asia:


Asia is mainly located in the Northern and Eastern hemispheres of the Earth. Asia is surrounded by Pacific Ocean to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south, and the Arctic Ocean to the north. Asia shares a physical border with Europe (members of the same landmass) across the Ural Mountains and the Caspian Sea, and it connects to Africa through the Isthmus of Suez.
